When people think of Rugby League greats, many names spring to mind and many arguments follow as to their worth. When looking at imports from overseas, that made a name for themselves in the English game, these names and arguments are still there. Yet there are very few who stand out as a name that draws universal acclaim.

Step forward Wally Lewis, the Emperor of Lang Park, is one of those players who draws universal acclaim. In fact, such is the esteem that he is held in by fellow professionals and Rugby League observers, there is only one name that he needs to be known by. Quite simply Wally Lewis is ‘The King’ and on December the 5^th 2019 ONCE AGAIN THE KING returns to Wakefield for an exclusive Wakefield tribute event that  befits the man himself.

AN EXTRA SPECIAL MOMENT WILL BE WHEN WALLY IS PRESENTED WITH HIS WAKEFIELD TRINITY PAST PLAYERS HERITAGE CERTIFICATE. WHAT AN HONOUR FOR US THAT THIS WILL BE HAPPENING AT THE EVENT AND WE HERE AT MJK WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE INVOLVED ESPECIALLY LEE ROBINSON AND MICHAEL CARTER.

On the night we will see big screen action from Wally’s amazing career and a special video tribute to the man himself.

Special guests including the man who bankrolled Wally’s move to Wakefield Barry Hough will also be in attendance and of course we have what we all want and that is the interview with THE KING followed by a lengthy audience Q and A.

Wally has some tremendous memories of the City and also has some tales from his playing days at Wakefield that beggar belief especially now we are in the modern era of summer rugby. 

Just like 2017 the deal for Wally was coming back to Wakefield. If we did not host the main event in Wakefield, Wally would not be coming to the UK, simple as that. Wally is quite simply “a great bloke” and on December the 5^th once again we are all in for a Royal Rugby League treat.
